An article in the Stamford Mercury of 1847 shows that John William Harmston also invented a musical instrument of his own design which produced “the most enchanting strains of soft and gentle music”
Biography -
In 1848 he moved to Lübeck, where he settled for the remainder of his life. Initially he became an English teacher, then a photographer, before becoming a music teacher.
